Our nucs are typically 5 frames all with mostly drawn comb from spring or summer splits from our over-wintered stocks. Each nuc will have a locally raised and mated Italian queen. Nucs are strong with at least one frame of brood from the queen that is present. In addition, there will be at least one full frame of honey, pollen stores, and some space open for the queen to continue laying. The nuc will be ready to place in your full-size hive body so the brood nest can continue to expand.
Please allow 2 – 3 weeks for delivery
Note: Our apiaries have been inspected by the local State Inspector and the Alabama Department of Agriculture and we have been issued a Certificate of Apiary Inspection for 2023.
Nucs are popular because they provide an highest chance of making it through the first winter while Packages tend to have a lower chance of success.
